There are many wonderful walks to tempt the fit and not-so fit. Sli na Rossan (the Rosses Way) long-distance marked footpath is laid partly on the bed of the old narrow-gauge Donegal Railway and it runs within metres of the cottage. From there you can wander for 60-70 kilometres east or west looping through the spectacular west-coast scenery. An Sli links with Sli na Finne, another wonderful circuit of roughly the same distance, also taking you well away from the 21st century. If you prefer to go off the beaten track, then you have hundreds of kilometres of mountain and lochside to explore. Vast Glenveagh National Park with Earagail Mountain, its eagles and wild deer, is just a few kilometres away and it welcomes walkers, as do the islands offshore. Bring your boots and we will soon get get you orientated.
